Italian beer snack
Today I decided to go out of tradition and not to recommend cheese or smoked sausages as an appetizer for beer. Here is a simple and easy recipe for an Italian beer snack – Calzoncelli.
Ingredients:
A packet of regular pizza dough (you can also make your own dough)
- 125 g of butter
- 125 g of mozzarella cheese
- 250g smoked salmon
- Peppers
- 0.5 lemon juice
- 1 whole lemon
- Chives, known in Israel as עירית
As usual, preheat the oven well to 220 ° C. Thinly roll out the dough and cut out circles from it with a round shape. While the oven is warming up, take a couple of sips of cold Pilsner, and then proceed to prepare the filling.
Mix the sliced cheese, salmon slices, pepper, salt and lemon juice in a saucepan. Put 1 teaspoon of the mixture on each tortilla and spread the filling so that it occupies one half of the circle. Fold the dough in a crescent shape, with the filling inside, and close it.
Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until the dough is browned. Serve cold or hot, garnished with lemon and chives. Calzoncelli pairs well with a good pilsner lager with a clean, lightly hopped flavor. Recipe from the web.
