The Japanese are first again!
It is well known that the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere has a negative impact on the earth’s ozone layer. A task force consisting of scientists and food manufacturers is now working in Japan on rules for labeling the amount of carbon dioxide emitted during the production of food products. By next March, foods in Japan will be labeled.
Sapporo Brewery is one of the most high-tech breweries in the world. It is able to fully control the production process and trace it from the cultivation of high-quality malt to the bottling of finished beer. Sapporo will be the first brewer to start labeling beer cans to indicate the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.
