Israel’s first beer news site IsraBeer turned 16 years old today. Is that a lot or a little? For a person, it’s not much, although at this age you can already begin to see what you’re going to get out of it. For a website, however, it is quite a solid record.

A lot has changed in sixteen years: the site has changed its appearance several times, I even had to change the domain, but one thing has remained unchanged – my love for beer. Gone is that puppyish delight of a first-time visitor to a magical land and the desire to embrace the vastness of the world – I’ve stopped writing about every beer event. Many of them pass me by unnoticed. I’ve become more critical and only write about what I really care about.

One of my main achievements is that the site now has an English version. All the latest articles can now be read in English. I finally realized that our world is not closed on beer and I wanted to talk about things I care about besides beer. So, I created the column “A World Without Beer“, where the word beer is not mentioned once. The “Beer ABC” returned to the site, and in our non-beer country this section is still relevant. Articles from my site were often reprinted, which is very pleasant.

As you can see, there are no special achievements. IsraBeer is still my private, non-commercial project – I earn my living by creating new brands of beer and it takes up almost all my time, including my free time. I hope to survive in the stormy and ever-changing world of the internet for many more years to come and still keep you happy with my articles.
